RedrumSociety was founded in 2008 out of South Florida by four friends, Dylan Lerner, Esdras Raymond, Esperanzo (Espo) Wilcox, and Zach Cohen. The four high school friends came from different backgrounds but bonded through their connection together in making music. They developed a reputation by hosting their friends and girlfriends while they would practice and craft new songs. In 2009, Dylan, who was the band’s best musician and played bass, went missing and was later found dead. The band decided not to replace him, but instead had Zach record both bass and guitar. By 2013, due to family and legal reasons, Espo and Esdras were not able to make the move out to Los Angeles with Zach, who moved there at the age of 19 in 2010 to help propel the band forward. Eventually, He took over vocal duties and hired session musicians to while he sang and played guitar on recordings. Zach’s substance abuse and mental health spiraled out of control and his actions put himself in danger. By 2015 it was imminent the band was finished, as he moved back to Florida to go into hiding. Three years later, however, he was convinced by an old mentor and friend to relaunch RedrumSociety after hearing “How I Cope.” Cohen was barely convinced but decided to again chase his dreams and answer his calling to honor Dylan, Esdras, and Espo and keep true to the original spirit and attitude of RedrumSociety. Today the band consists of Cohen on guitar and vocals, Andrew Platt on keyboards and vocals, Sean Chesal on drums and vocals, and Ruddy Simon on bass. In 2021, the band’s song “All Night” reached no. 22 on the billboard rock charts and they play in the South Florida music circuit.
